Sierra Schmeltzer is a professional flutist, piccoloist, and teacher based in Los Angeles, CA.

Sierra Schmeltzer specializes in orchestral classical music and studio recording.

She is currently the piccolo/flute III chair in the Boise Philharmonic in Boise, ID, as well as the principal flute of the American Youth Symphony. Sierra is head flute faculty at the Santa Monica Conservatory of music in addition to maintaining a private flute studio in downtown Los Angeles. Sierra graduated from the University of Southern California in spring of 2022 with a graduate certificate in flute performance, and in spring of 2020 with a masters in flute performance under the tutelage of Jim Walker. Sierra is available for performance and recording work.

“My mission is to provide each student with an in-depth musical knowledge of technique, musicality, and sound creation. I believe in fostering a positive and motivating atmosphere for students to learn and thrive. My goal is for each of my students to come away with a love and appreciation for music, whether they decide to continue professionally or as a hobby.”
